A wonderful museum outside of Copenhagen. The museum is located on the coast in Louisiana and looks like a big country house, surrounded by the beautiful nature. From Copenhagen you can take the train to Louisiana. It takes about 35 minutes and a 10 minute walk from Louisiana station to the museum. At the time of visiting, there were 2 major exhibitions. One of Marina Abramović (body and performance artist) and Rineke Dijkstra (‘Dutch’ modern portraiture photography).
Marina Abramović
The performance art of Marina Abramović is mostly transgressive and revolve around the body, energy, gender, time pain, presence and identity. Sometimes the audience becomes part of the performance (for example: to get into the exhibition, you have to walk through 2 naked people that were standing in the door line). This all to provoke a response from the visitor. The exhibition was an overview of the work she has made over the years (1971 till now).
NOTE: You must be able to resist shocking images and subjects, otherwise this exhibition is nothing for you.

Rineke Dijkstra
Rineke is a master in making (awkward) modern portraiture both through photography and video. She uses a lot of different people/ identities for her work (family, children etc.), and because of the large-scale photographs, those people seem real, vulnerable and sometimes even awkward for posing. Because the exhibition was spacious and large, you could really get into the visuals.
