Near to Nyhavn (the harbor with the colored houses) and the Danish Design Museum lies Kastellet. A place where you will find nature and a beautiful view. Kastellet is a fortress surrounded by water. If you look at it from above (google maps), you can see that it was built in the form of a star. Around 1800 it was originally attended to protect the fortress (and the city) from invades from the sea (for example the battle with England in 1807). But nowadays Kastellet forms a military site, a cultural heritage monument, a museum and a park, which many Copenhageners use for walks. So, take a walk, enjoy the view and relax when you visit the Kastellet.
